Farewell to Centrifugal Dryers

Phoenix Feinbau has abandoned its old centrifugal dryer and now dries its sensitive stamped metal parts directly in a drum drying system. Completely dry, gently treated – all within the drum and within the cycle time.

Phoenix Feinbau GmbH & Co. KG from Lüdenscheid had already discarded its previous centrifugal dryer in 2005 and replaced it with a drum dryer. For the highly sensitive stamped metal parts, which are coated in their in-house electroplating facility, they wanted to improve the drying process and finally eliminate the annoying loss of quality caused by centrifuging. The company had heard of the alternative drying technology from Harter, which boasted that it could dry bulk materials directly in the container. “At that time, it was a conversion of an existing system. The result was so good that future systems should only be equipped with Harter technology,” explains Frank Daube, Group Leader Manufacturing Surface Technology.
