Save Costs with Sludge Drying

Surface finisher Heiche utilizes a sludge drying system for its filter-pressed galvanic sludge, in addition to several adhesion water dryers. After pressing, these typically still have a water content of approximately 50%. If landfill costs are correspondingly high, sludge drying quickly pays for itself. Dried sludge is sometimes classified into better categories. Recycling can also become an option, depending on the sludge. The possibilities are diverse. A container drying system was designed for Heiche, as the company already had suitable containers that could be used for this purpose. After pressing, the sludge-filled containers are moved into the drying chamber. The Drymex® S 6.5 sludge dryer features 2 drying chambers, which in this case are loaded simultaneously. Heiche generates 3 tons of sludge per working day. 1.5 tons each are dried homogeneously within 12 hours at a maximum of 50°C to a dry matter content of 85%. The water extraction capacity is 70 l/h. 0.4 kWh are required for 1 liter of water extraction.
