Efficient sewage sludge drying

Our Drymex® sewage sludge dryers are suitable for pre-dewatered water-containing sludges and substrates. For sewage sludge from centrifuges and screw presses, continuous belt drying is ideal. If you have a chamber filter press in use, batch solutions are also possible.

Most of the money for disposal is simply spent on water. By using our sewage sludge drying system with a heat pump, you reduce the weight and volume of your sludge by up to 70 percent. This also means a reduction in your disposal costs by up to 70 percent.

Air dehumidification is possible here in the low-temperature range. Drymex® sewage sludge dryers operate in a defined temperature range between 30 and 60 °C.

The heat pump technology integrated in all our dryers is inherently efficient and ecologically sound. Our belt dryers require a maximum of only 0.4 kWh per liter of water extracted.

Our sewage sludge drying system operates in an air-technically closed system and is therefore completely independent of climatic and weather influences. Only at the inlet and outlet openings of the belt dryer is there a minimal air exchange, which must be taken into account during planning. The closed circuit also increases the energy efficiency of the process.
The perfect interplay of extremely dry air and the correct air flow ensures that sewage sludge drying is efficient, safe, exhaust-free and homogeneous.

Our belt dryers for sewage sludge are modular solutions. We have developed a special module that can be combined in series with up to 10 modules. This gives you a sewage sludge dryer in the right size for you – also as a mobile solution.

Order of magnitude

Our single module dries approximately 100 kg of sewage sludge per hour. It can be expanded to up to 1,000 kg/h. The current upper limit is “per system” 140,000 population equivalents.

Conveyor technology

Our sewage sludge drying system requires the sludge to be fed into the hopper above the module and the dried sludge to be discharged. The Process

The Drymex® heat pump module of our sludge dryers provides the necessary process air and is also responsible for the condensation process. We work with extremely dry and thus unsaturated air, guiding it homogeneously through the sludge. This combination of efficient air preparation and appropriate air guidance ensures a high-quality drying result.

Interface Drymex® heat pump module / drying container: humid air is extracted from the drying chamber and fed to the dehumidification unit.

Moisture condenses on the fins of the air cooler and drains out of the drying system via the drip tray and condensate drain.

The air heater warms the air to the required process temperature.

The process air fan ensures the necessary air exchange between the Drymex® heat pump module and the drying chamber.

Now, the dry, unsaturated air is guided into the drying chamber. This closes the circuit.
