Save Energy and Cycle Time with New Drying Technology

Since 2017, customers have been able to apply for government subsidies for the use of Harter technology, as it demonstrably achieves energy and CO2 savings of up to 85% and 79% respectively.Many hot air or blower systems have failed when it comes to drying bulk materials. Drying small parts directly in their containers is a tricky matter. The coater ODU has reduced the cycle time by 75% with suitable drying.

The significant increase in drying efficiency was achieved at Otto Dunkel GmbH & Co.KG, or ODU for short, based in Mühldorf, Bavaria. What previously took 20 minutes was now accomplished in less than 5 minutes – with excellent quality results. This particular project was realized by the internationally leading provider of connector systems together with Harter, the drying plant manufacturer from Stiefenhofen in Allgäu. Both companies have known each other for some time, as ODU has been utilizing a Harter sludge dryer for years. ODU pre-dewatered its galvanic sludge in a chamber filter press and then homogeneously dehumidified it in the dryer to a dry matter content of 85%.
